Motion Comic: Prophets Series

Four videos in this series:

1. The prophet Habakkuk struggles with the fact that God’s chosen people suffer at the hands of enemies even more wicked than they. God answers the questions of Habakkuk and demonstrates His wisdom, sovereignty, and salvation. (Length: 6:46)

2. The Book of Haggai encourages the people of God to reconsider their priorities, take courage, and act on the basis of God’s promises. Haggai challenges us to examine our priorities to see if we are more interested in our own pleasures than doing the work of God; to reject a defeatist attitude when we run into difficulties; 3) to confess our failures and seek to live pure lives before God; 4) to act courageously for God because we have the assurance that He is with us always and is in full control of our circumstances; and 5) to rest secure in God’s hands knowing that He will abundantly bless us as we faithfully serve Him. 3. Malachi was the last prophet of the Old Testament before the Intertestamental Period. He addressed the priests who had turned from the Lord, spoke of proper sacrifices to God, marriage, family, tithing and turning from sin. He reiterated God’s love for His people and prophesied about the coming of John the Baptist 400 years later. (Length: 7:57)

4. The time between the last writings of the Old Testament and the coming of Jesus Christ to earth is known as the “intertestamental” (or “between the testaments”) period. This span of time is from the prophet Malachi (about 400 BC) to the preaching of John the Baptist (about AD 25). Because there was no prophetic word from God during this time, this period is sometimes referred to as the “400 silent years.” During these 400 years the political, religious, and social atmosphere of Israel changed significantly before the arrival of Jesus Christ.
